Rio de Janeiro to Nova Friburgo:
From Rio de Janeiro there are three routes to Nova Friburgo. RED- Leaving by the Rio-Niteroi Bridge, take the BR-101 Road through Manilha, and after Itaboraí turn left on the RJ-116 Road to Cachoeiras de Macacu and Nova Friburgo. From the police checkpoint at the top of the mountain, count another 6 km (around 3.80 miles) to turn right at km 72 of the road into Norge Hamburgo Street (stone paved). We are just a quarter of a mile ahead (400 m). YELLOW- Leaving by the Linha Vermelha, after Duque de Caxias, turn right in the direction of Teresópolis; after the toll plaza, go to Parada Modelo and then turn right at RJ-122 Road; at the police checkpoint, take the RJ-116 Road to Cachoeiras de Macacu and Nova Friburgo. From the police checkpoint at the top of the mountain, count another 6 km (around 3.80 miles) to turn right at km 72 of the road into Norge Hamburgo Street (stone paved). We are just a quarter of a mile ahead (400 m). GREEN- Leaving by the Linha Vermelha, after Duque de Caxias, turn right in the direction of Teresópolis: before entering the city, at Soberbo, keep right at Rio-Bahia Road and turn right at RJ-130 Road to Nova Friburgo. Once in Friburgo, follow the exit to Rio, passing through Mury, and then turn left after the police checkpoint. Belo Horizonte to Nova Friburgo

Leaving Belo Horizonte, take the BR-040 Road towards Conselheiro Lafaiete, Barbacena, Santos Dumont, Juiz de Fora, and Três Rios. Before reaching Petropolis, take the exit to Itaipava, cross the bridge and turn right till the intersection, then turn left to Teresopolis; from there, take the RJ-130 Road to Nova Friburgo. Once in Friburgo, follow the exit to Rio, passing through Mury, and then turn left after the police checkpoint. |

Leaving São Paulo, take the road to Rio; from there, choose one of the routes indicated in the map Rio-Nova Friburgo above.
